GTB Technologies® is looking for an experienced Browser Extension Developer to join our engineering team and contribute to the development of browser-based capabilities within GTB’s data security platform.

This role is ideal for a developer with hands-on experience building Chrome / Chromium browser extensions, working with Manifest V3, and securely integrating browser technologies with enterprise software and backend services. You’ll work on browser-based technologies that support GTB’s patented data security solutions while collaborating with an experienced cybersecurity engineering team.

This is a hybrid–remote position based in Southern Florida.

What You’ll Own

  • Browser Extension Development: Develop, enhance, and maintain browser extensions for Chrome, Edge, and potentially Firefox using JavaScript and Manifest V3.
  • Platform Integration: Integrate browser extensions securely with GTB services, APIs, and platform components.
  • Extension Architecture: Work with background service workers, content scripts, messaging, storage, permissions, and other browser extension APIs.
  • Secure Communications: Develop reliable and secure communication between browser extensions and GTB platform components.
  • Browser-Side Data Protection: Contribute to browser-side data protection and content analysis capabilities.
  • Network Integration: Implement and troubleshoot HTTP requests, authentication, REST APIs, CORS, and related browser functionality.
  • Testing & Compatibility: Debug issues and perform cross-browser testing to ensure reliability, performance, and compatibility across supported browsers.
  • Engineering Collaboration: Work closely with other GTB engineering teams throughout design, development, integration, and testing.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

What You Bring

  • Strong JavaScript skills, including ES6+, asynchronous programming, async/await, and Promises.
  • Hands-on experience developing browser extensions, particularly for Chrome or Chromium-based browsers.
  • Strong understanding of Manifest V3, content scripts, background service workers, messaging, storage, and browser permissions.
  • Experience integrating applications with HTTP APIs, including fetch, REST, authentication, and CORS.
  • Solid understanding of browser security concepts, including Content Security Policy (CSP), permissions, and XSS.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and become productive quickly within an existing codebase.

Nice to Have

  • TypeScript experience.
  • Firefox extension development experience.
  • Experience integrating browser extensions with enterprise applications or services.
  • Experience with CI/CD processes for browser extensions.
  • Automated browser or extension testing using Playwright, Puppeteer, or similar tools.
  • Basic Python or C++ experience.
  • Experience with cybersecurity, DLP, data security, content analysis, or endpoint security technologies.
