Solved – High False Positive Rates of DLP
“due to their sole discipline in DLP/ILP technology and solving the market limitation of high false positive rates … GTB is on
track to becoming the dominant provider of DLP/ILP solutions” – Frost & Sullivan, ?2007 World Data Leakage and Information Loss Prevention (DLP/ILP) Market Study? by Brewton, T., 27 August 2008. This vendor should be included in any DLP / ILP evaluation.
More about the Frost & Sullivan Market Study
Frost & Sullivan reviewed over 30 DLP/ILP systems providers that claim to provide some form of DLP or ILP technology. After reviewing each vendor, 21 of these companies were used in the study. The other nine did not match the analyst firm’s DLP and ILP definitions.
Frost & Sullivan defines Data Leakage Prevention (DLP) as a solution that monitors and enforces policy on fingerprinted data that is at rest, in motion or in use on a public or private computer network. The firm defines Information Loss Prevention (ILP) as a solution that monitors and enforces policy on fingerprinted data that resides on a computer endpoint, such as a desktop workstation, or mobile device such as a laptop, personal digital assistant (PDA) or smart phone.
The study’s qualitative research was not limited to “stand-alone” DLP products, however quantitative information such as market size and forecast measurements were based on stand-alone DLP products only. That means that the study does not include revenues generated by products that have DLP modules imbedded into vendor’s solutions or licensed into second or third party solutions such as but not limited to Firewalls, Content Filtering and Unified Threat Management products.
